We got an email from an ELK student’s grandmother today that I wanted to share with you all.
M has expressed some interest in maybe having a “career” in the outdoors. Is there an opportunity for him to explore this area so that maybe we can plant a seed and watch M grow???? I think it is great he is thinking about this now. He states he doesn’t want a job but a career. He applied and interviewed for Safety Patrol at his school. He was so proud when he was one of the youths that were chosen. He has been in the Gifted and Talented Program for the last 2 years… I know he can be a handful but if we can keep him focused I know he will do well.
Over the years, we have watched M grow and change into this talented, smart young man, and we are so proud of him and his accomplishments.
ELK has been successful with kids like M because we work with them, day in and day out, throughout their entire academic career and into college. We also work with their families to ensure that they are supported from every side to achieve their dreams. This is why we do what we do!
